"I prefer to speak with a representative in the Unites States. The gentleman who answered was from the Philippines. He was difficult to understand because of his accent. Additionally, he would talk over me as I tried to ask questions. My policy plan cost almost doubled from my practice in California to NYS. I was surprised that rates for liability insurance vary state to state. My US representative informed me that the variation was determined by the number of claims of malpractice in each state. It seems unfair that clinicians who have never had any complaints or malpractice suits are penalized by higher rates due to clinicians who have had complaints and malpractice suits."
